ATTENTION! This will end on 01.06.2013
Hey guys! ^^
This here be the God Auditions
Estreya and Rottair to be precise!
Before you go ahead and submit your tryout, first read over this important information about our two lovely gods.
Estreya She is the goddess of life. She is a white-tail deer. Her magic allows others to enter the forest. Without her the whole thing would just crumble and disappear. I see her as very social, and she "comes out" more than Rottair does. She loves to visit the pond and socialize with others. Smaller animals also flock to her and she loves caring for them, especially baby creatures.
I already made up an appearance for her, but you can make your own without buying or finding items! She'll be your character after all. ^^ Just make sure it suits her, and is beautimous. :D
Rottair Rottair is the balancing force of The Forest. He is a wolf. Once an animal "dies" he uses his magic to teleport them back to where they came from. Rottair is very elusive and usually can only be seen when he comes from the White Oak, otherwise it's very rare to catch him. He usually visits the outcrops or the Silent Forest when he does come out.
I also made an appearance for him, but like Estreya, you can change it without cost! As always make sure it suits him. ^^
The players that get the gods will be required to be active. Every month or so, provided there is enough praying from characters, you will need to post at the White Oak. It'll be a time of celebration and you can give away items occasionally. (I'll clue you in to how this will work!) If activity from the gods' roleplayers drop, I'll either have to give them to other members or RP them myself, which I'd rather let the members do. :/
So then! For anyone wanting to tryout, simply post a reply to this thread role playing whichever god you want. You can tryout for both. Also, if you change their appearances, post the details too. ^^
Happy auditioning!

I will be trying for Rottair.
The forest was calm tonight, as it had been all month. It was very peaceful and soothing; songbirds (now asleep in their nests) had been busy twittering their songs all day, filling the majestic landscape with a gentle tune that could be mimicked by no other. It was glorious, really, how wonderful this place was. And yet, it bothered him. Sometimes the large, midnight hued beast feared that this world was becoming too peaceful, too perfect, and though perfection was something he did not mind when it came to himself (after all, he was a god) when it came to the forest and those that called this beautiful place home, Rottair did not want them to become a part of perfection. If they all settled in too nicely, became too comfortable and peaceful and began to love one another and feel secure in their homes, there would be no reason for him anymore. His counterpart, Estreya, would surely take over the forest, then, and that was most certainly something he did not want happening!
The thought of the deer made the lupine chuckle, his large head shaking from side to side as he stalked along the moss strewn floor of the forest. Ah, yes, he and Estreya went way back. They were not friends, exactly, but nor were they enemies. They coexisted, neither able to survive without the other, though technically speaking, they were not alive. They were spirits, gods of the forest. She brought life and he, the darker entity, brought death, or the equivalent of it. His job was mainly to cart souls from this forest to a different reality, the one they had been a part of before their deaths. It was interesting, the different reactions he got from the creatures. He'd taken note that most of those that supported him were the darker hearts; perhaps they thought of him as evil? Another chuckle fell from his lips. It would not surprise him. After all, he was a very mysterious and lucrative creature. Who could blame him, though?
Suppressing a yawn, the pony-sized wolf crept through the forest, humming quietly to himself as his massive paws left large prints behind him. It was kind of one of his trademarks, those paw prints. He was always entertained when he watched the mortals try to follow him. It was impossible to find him when he did not want to be found, however, for he was almighty and rule will himself away in the blink of an eye. He could be nothing but a shadow if he wanted to do such a thing. Most of the time, he simply did not mingle, keeping to himself unless the monthly prayers of the forest dwellers summoned him. Other than that, rarely did he ever make an appearance. Unlike Estreya, who was a social butterfly, the carnivore enjoyed his solitude. He figured it was best to watch the forest and see how the inhabitants reacted to one another.
The night carried on around him as he walked, his eyes, a swirling mass of ice blue, blinking slowly and steadily as he observed everything around him. He passed many sleeping deer and a few lurking predators but they did not see him for he did not want to be seen. Eventually, as the sun began to rise, Rottair lifted his maw to the sky and grinned before, suddenly, he was gone, leaving nothing but over large paw prints in the soft soil of the forest.

She could still remember the before times, when she and Rottair were the only creatures in existence. They ran back and forth across the sky in an endless hunt. Some times he caught her, and sometimes she outran him. More rarely did she manage to crush him beneath her cloven hooves. There was no hate between them, though. Estreya may have been the goddess of life, but she acknowledged the need for balance. Rottair provided that much-needed balance.
Seeing her children flourish brought joy to her heart, slowly chilled by the passing of her endless life. It was one of the few things she had to look forward to. The doe loved to help them as much as she could. If given the opportunity, she would bless every fawn and pup and cub. There would be no sickness and no famine. All would be happy and at peace with one another. The plane on which her children lived did not allow for much interference from her, however. Its material did not allow for magic to seep through, and rejected her violently whenever she tried to enter.
To remedy this problem, she created her own pocket of forest. It existed outside of that other world, somewhere between it and the celestial plane where she had come into being. Though it was not perfect, it was a much nicer place than the other. There were no humans to steal the land's wealth and molest the animals. To help her flock enter their new Eden, Estreya then created portals here and there throughout it. These were meant to be bridges between that world and this one, just large enough to let in one or two at a time. She did not want it to be filled up too quickly. That would result in famine, and she did not want Rottair to have to interfere just yet.
She made three meant exclusively for her and Rottair's use. She created one near a large pond, meant to mark the pond as her realm. It was to be a happy, peaceful place where only those with pure intentions could congregate. Rottair's lay between the Silent Forest and the outcrops. He seemed to favor those two areas whenever he appeared, and Estreya had no desire to dispute him. There was one they shared. It laid within an oak at the forest's center. The whole tree had been turned snowy white by the strong magic humming in the world's fabric. Here the animals could come and pray to their new gods. Today Estreya had spotted a large group congregating around the Oak. Such a turn out pleased her, and she decided to answer their prayers.
She was stepping through the Oak now. Her "eyes" were closed so that she could focus her attention on shaping her corporeal form. It had been some time since she had assumed it. Not since she had welcomed poor Gordlum, if her memory served her correctly. This was to be her first appearance in front of her children here, and she wanted it to be perfect. First came the compact frame with its long, powerful legs, standing an awe-inspiring eight feet tall at the shoulder. Next came her fur, long and thick, gleaming white in the sun, and then her eyes, large pools of liquid gold. She debated for a second as to whether or not she should materialize with antlers. She quickly decided against it - no need to confuse or frighten them. Last came the wreathe of flowers 'round her neck, which changed to match the seasons.
Estreya opened her eyes to see her children's smiling faces. Predators and prey alike sat together in peace. No one was arguing. Their teeth were not bared in anger but in smiles. At first, she was confused as to whom they were grinning at. The doe cast her eyes back and forth in search of the cause of their joy. Slowly she realized who the group's attention was focused on: her. They were happy to see her. Her heart grew warm at the realization, and a wide smile broke out on her face.
It was the first smile of her existence.
