hey guys!
so, i was thinking about making a new skin for the forum!
problem is - i'm not sure what theme to base it off of!
so, i made a poll!
- A more spring-themed skin: more darker and a few lighter shades of green would be incorporated within the skin, and the main picture at the top would most likely feature one (or two) of our characters standing in what looks to be the Arkose Meadows.
- Something based on rainwater - spring is usually associated with lots of sunshine, and lots of rain - LOTS of rain. so with this theme, there would be varying shades of blue, and perhaps raindrops as a soothing background, and i was thinking of either using an animated image to border the top of the forum, or using a static one to depict one of our characters standing in the rain, on a more gloomy day (to keep the site from being obnoxiously bright)
- Forest shade - basically more pine green colours and browns; for this i would probably have one of our characters either slushing around in the murky waters of the swamps.
- Something completely dark - to go with the plot that we'll (hopefully) get started soon, there would be more blacks, dark purples, and dark blues involved - and for a main image, i was thinking about drawing one of the 'shadow souls' looking all menacing and such. something dark and creepy, really.

Eep! I'm excited for the new skin  ! I think having a rain background would be nice, you know, play it off with different blues and perhaps some complimenting colors like greens or browns. The awesome thing about rain skins is you can go bright and dark, and with your description of the skin, I assume you want one leaning toward a dimmer looking skin.
For the gloomy/rainy background, you could do things like This and then lock the background so it doesn't move when you scroll down. While the picture isn't essentially a rainy background, I figured it was that sort of dark calming type picture that would look nice as a back drop, and the other smaller side tables and main board could be shades of blues or whatever color you think would be nice. c:
Here's a few more that I thought would fit wonderfully, following the darker idea: Picture A Picture B Picture C. But, like I said, those aren't exactly rain back drops. I was just going along with the blue theme. Here's a few actual rain backgrounds that I think would be nice as well: Picture A Picture B Picture C Picture D. It's not incredibly important that the picture isn't "blue" or not, because I can edit it to be darker and bluer, if you will. Those are only a few examples, but Sem, I hope it gives you a few ideas! The cool thing about pictures like this, is I can feed it through a website of mine and it'll give me a color pallet, including the codes, created from that specific picture. It takes certain colors from the photo and creates a unique set for one to use however he/she desires. It's really nifty and keeps everything pretty and color organized so the entire skin would flow nicely ^^
As with the "moving" banner at the top of the website, I think using a static or stationary one would be best. My reasoning for this, is that animated backgrounds or banners that cannot be shut of by member request can slow internet and cause things not to load. Me for example, I live 6 miles out of town and my internet is painfully slow. Having something moving constantly would cause the site to crash on my computer. I'm sure there's other members out there that don't have the best internet either, but that's just my thought on it c: Feedback? Ideas?

i didn't realize our banner moved o m o
but i looove those pictures~ i'll definitely be sure to use them - or at least pick them out and slide them your way to get those fancy colours xD
but those are all good pictures, and ideas! i'll definitely keep them in mind :> and hopefully a new skin will be up soon..i think i might set the site into maintenance mode so that we can kinda just. mess around with it before unveiling it for everyone to gawk at xD haha
you can help me with organizing things too cause. i think i might - might - change the overall layout. i haven't quite decided yet, though.

I think closing the site for X amount of days would help. Just so members don't get confused if things disappear and reappear somewhere else, haha. And with the skin change, if we dink around a bit while it's closed it would be easier so people aren't like, "WHY DON'T THE BACKGROUND MATCH THE SIDE TABLES?!" Hehe, you get my point c: But yes, I approve of sending the site into a short maintenance break would be lovely
