Name: Tarükya Estrachganté (TAR-ook-yah Eh-strahk-gahn-tay) or, Tara (TAR-ah)
Gender: Female
Species: Red Fox | Vulpes vulpes
Age: Three years
Appearance: A small creature Tara is indeed, as she is basically the living stereotype of her kind. She stands at a maximum of six inches at the shoulder, and weighs in at a mere 7.3 pounds. She is lithe and wiry, with sharp features, but a soft face. Color-wise, she has the standard pelt: orangey-red covers most of her body, and all four limbs fade into an ebony black. The back of her ears are also black, and most of her underbelly and jaw are a snow white. Her tail has a mixture of black and orange furs, giving it a brownish shade, and the tip of it is white. Her eyes are a dull amber, as are most of the foxes that dwell the Earth. All in all, she's nothing special, really, though she could be counted as a rare sight in the Forest.
Personality: If she were to manifest but one aspect of life, Tara would most likely be self-preservation. She lives only but to enlongen her days and keep herself safe from the horrors of the world, and from the horrors of being alive (the events in her life made her realize how terrible things were in the world, and she wanted to break free of all of it). Therefore she often isolates herself or picks a small few people to trust, and tries to only acknowledge people or things that she likes; meaning, she'll literally block out certain things to stay happy. Of course, she can always sense what she wishes to detect should her "guardian" allow it; Tara is undeniably a schizophrenic. She hears voices and sees what isn't there, and a prominent companion that haunts her would be Marroone. Marroone is an entity that leads Tara around and orders her what and what not to do, but in all reality, the fox can't understand that he is not real. Henceforth, he is a driving force in her life, and can occasionally push her over her limits to further protect herself. Because of her mental illness, Tara constantly seems like a paranoid, cold, uncaring figure, but shows upmost respect to Marroone.
When Marroone doesn't bother her and no other voices reach out to her, however, she can actually be a genuine canine. She is capable of being polite and hospitable, as well as affectionate and friendly to those that deserve it. However, because Marroone will feed lies into her head about those she befriends, it is not certain that she will be so pleasant to them next time they meet. She is very easy to manipulate and will believe almost anything she hears, hence is how Marroone is such a dominant person in her life, and why she even listens to him. But, because of this tendency, it is perhaps possible that one can help her understand how Marroone isn't real, nor are the other hallucinations or voices that taunt and poke fun at her...
History:
• Born to a pair of travelers in the northwest with two other kits.
• One kit dies shortly after birth, leaving Tara and her brother, Engeltruden.
• Tara and Engel are as thick as thieves for much of their childhood, daring to do anything for the other.
• Mother falls ill, father goes missing during traveling.
• Engel and Tara take care of their mother, though Tara is traumatized that her father is gone.
• Mother passes away, leaving her daughter even more distraught. Beginning signs of schizophrenia set in, caused by emotional trauma.
• Tara meets Marroone in a dream.
• Tara and Engel keep with their traveling lifestyle, relying on one another to stay alive.
• A pack of coyotes fall upon Engel one night as he is hunting. They murder him for food. Tara is awoken from her sleep by the noise from afar and goes to investigate, only to find her brother being eaten by the coyotes.
• In shock and disbelief she attacks a member of the group, snapping her jaws on his neck. The 'yote didn't realize she was there and was completely off-guard, so he dies instantly.
• Pack runs off, leaving the carcass. Tara mourns over her dead brother for days.
• Schizophrenia begins to take its full effect, and Marroone appears to her again during her weeping. He promises to take care of her since Engel is gone and can't help her anymore. Dazed by his death, Tara agrees to be in the "care" of the hallucination, but in reality, she had given her soul up to the darkness of herself.
• Marroone leads her across the lands, and Tara stumbles into the safe sanctuary of the Forest by accident, but welcomes the new place willingly after Marroone tells her she will be forever safe here.
Other: Tara's voice a beautiful alto, and is deep and smooth, like silk. She is a schizophrenic, and is mentally unstable because of it. If it is Marroone's will, she can explode and attack brutally and fatally at any given moment. Another thing to mention is her enhanced physical capabilities. She has consumed a Power Potion, which made her extremely powerful. She has more strength than a fully grown gray wolf, but physically, one couldn't visibly detect her strength. Her dainty build doesn't at all suggest her deadly aspects, which, when combined with her mental problems, makes for a lot of trouble should Marroone demand she attack. Also, speaking of a certain demon, here, HAVE A MARROONIE-BUTT SO YOU GET A FEEL FOR HIM. :D
Marroone (MAR-oon. A more enunciated version of the word maroon.)
Male
Age unknown (as old as Tara, most likely)
Humanoid-like, though only Tara can sense him, as he is a hallucination
Marroone first came to Tara within a dream, and appeared to her more increasingly afterwards, most prominently at Engel's untimely death. He is a figure that floats approximately half a foot from the ground, and is completely covered in a slick, maroon substance. Any features he possesses are masked by this substance, and on his elbows, face, and fingers, it seems as though this substance is dripping from him (though it never does fall). Spikes cover his back, and he sports claw-like hands and feet. A whip-like tail comes from the bottom of his spine, giving him the feel of the personification of Satan. He is faceless and featureless, skinny and lanky. He also possesses no articles of clothing or any accessories.
Personality-wise, he's not too different from Tara herself. He's monotonous, first and foremost, and seems to have a bleak outlook on life. He sees his creator—because, technically, that's what she is—as a lower, inferior being to himself, and is often tactless towards her or dismissive of her or her opinions. However, he seems to care enough for her to promise to see her safe, but this is probably just a ruse to get her to follow his orders and let him boss her around. Marroone is a strong influence on her thinking and her actions, and is even powerful enough to "possess her"—or, rather, make her act ever more maliciously and strangely at his will. Despite his dominating behavior towards the fox and how he regards her so lowly, he apparently is also a fatherly figure towards her. Should she meet another being and become friends with them, Marroone is quick to persuade Tara that they are nothing but trouble, as others are a threat to his well-being (should Tara find out he isn't real, it would ruin him.) More than likely, he came to exsistence to "fill in" the place where her parents had left, seeing as how he is a very influential figure to Tara. Another reason might be to take the place of deceased Engel, as her brother often led Tara around and took care of her. Marroone is basically the one the small canine relies on, anyways, so both of these theories make sense. ... That is, if an outsider were able to visibly see and acknowledge Marroone's presence. Tara doesn't think that deep into the practical demon's presence, as she is under the impression he is a real being guiding her around.
His voice is a deep, intelligent-sounding tone, and he speaks slowly and enunciates his words clearly and fluently. Never does he falter with his speech, nor does he stumble on his words. No matter how damning the evidence is that he is a real, living, breathing organism, he is but a figment of Tarükya's imagination, her conscience's way of providing her a guardian angel of sorts, even if he takes the appearance of the Devil.
