Trees, ferns and who knows what elts whipped by her in a blur of colors and sounds as tetsurie bounded through the woods. Careening at break neck speeds (for a deer at least) over hedge and hill, hole and gulie. Once and a while she would skid to a stop, panting, lift her head up and sniff the air, then alter her direction slightly and be off once again. One could say she looked like a crazed animal the way her eyes were wide and wild, body all over the place, and mouth wet with saliva. But to tetsurie she was just desperate, and she had had enough of just meandering around trying to conserve her energy, and what ever precious water she had left in her body. Tetsurie knew that if she couldn't get to water today she would be dead. So for her she'd rather die truly trying then lay down and wait for what fate may have in store. A few moment's later Tetsurie could just sense that she was close, and in knowing so, she became more and more focussed and also reckless. Which earned her the unpleasant experience of tripping over an exposed root, sending her rump over tea-kettle into a muddy swath of earth. It took her a few secconds to right herself so that she was laying down, but when she went to get up white fire shot up her right leg making her cry out in pain. With tears welling up she tilted her head and looked down, she found that she had gauged her leg up really good, and it was oozing blood to no end. "just great" she sobbed, to no one in particular"how the heck am i going to get along on this". Trying again through tears and bouts of pain to get up. She once again conceded to her injury and lay down defeated in the mud. In a little bit she would try again but for now she was exhausted, famished, and literally dying of thirst. With one last weary blink she fell asleep.

(Kynn) "Don't take life too seriously. You'll never escape it alive anyway."
Kynn had no real business being at Estreya's Pond. He had no one to accompany him, no one to meet and greet upon arrival, and certainly no lovely she-wolf to rendezvous with. No, he was simply wandering, uninterested in much. The lands here bored him and the creatures even more so. He had, on his way, seen a Caribou running through the fields as if his rump was on fire. The creep had been bellowing and spewing out gargled yelps like he was dying or something. Come to think of it, Kynn had gotten a strong scent of decay after the bull had vanished. These lands were boring, but strange. Licking his nose to moisten it, the wolf walked nonchalantly down the bank of the bond, turning a curious gaze toward the crystal like water. It was so clear, so still that it was almost hypnotic. There was the stir of a turtle as he passed by and he paused a moment to watch it float toward deeper water. Peculiar indeed. What would it feel like to possess a mobile home that doubled as a shield? Kynn pondered the thought for only a moment before he continued on his way.
The wolf was losing himself in his own thoughts when a scream cut through the warm air. He froze, ears erect, head cocked to the side. What the hell? He remained silent, unwavering like a statue alongside the water, as he listened for any other cries of distress. It was not that he heard anything more, but he—as a predator— could sense a being in anguish not too far from here. Naturally, he would search out whatever it was and make it an easy meal. But not this day, for Kynn’s breakfast sat heavy in his belly. He had no desire to shed blood, and no desire to end any suffering that may be going on. Still however, his curiosity was peaked from the shriek, and so he headed in the general direction. Perhaps it was a fawn that was separated from its mother? No, couldn’t be. He knew deer too well, when a fawn has been separated from his doe, he’ll bleat like the world was ending. Had they not learned to silence their children? That crying was a beacon for predators, including him. Kynn could sense he was getting near, and it wasn’t too long before he stumbled upon the scene.
A young looking antelope, no older than a few summers, was unconscious in a mud pit. Kynn clambered on a large rock to stay out of the thick substance as he observed the situation. She was definitely something he hadn’t come across. She was smaller than him, he could tell by this distance, and he could tell she definitely was not the norm around here. Kynn snorted in confusion. What the hell was she? Not a whitetail, not a mule deer, nor black tail. A mutant, perhaps. She was breathing heavily, and there was a nasty gash on her right leg. Bummer. He thought as he tilted his head a bit and took a large breath into his lungs. Kynn hesitated when he turned to leave. It was quite the pity to be in her situation. And while he was a wolf, that by nature ate her kind, he felt as though he could have a bit of fun with her. He knew well of Estreya's Pond and knew that if he were to come with soiled thoughts and discontent intentions, he may suffer from something he could have actively avoided. Besides, he already ate this morning. There was no need to kill the unconscious injured female who lay so pitifully in the mud. A smile crept onto Kynn’s face and he sat down on his boulder, peering down at the youngster. He cleared his throat unnecessarily loud so he’d wake her and said, “Whoa there, Princess, you seem to be in a bit of a pickle. How’d you manage that?” His tone was an overly sarcastic one, and he hopefully used the right one to signal that he wasn’t here to eat her. "Care for a helping paw?"

Utter darkness surrounded her like thick black sludge, she could feel it bearing down on her, seeping into every fiber of her being. Everything before her, behind her, what she was and could be was becoming a part of this inky black nothingness. She felt as though she was being erased, getting broken down molecule buy molecule until she was nothing but that which surrounded her. is this to be my fate? she thought to dissolve into nothing, to be forgotten by time, never to know the warmth of the Sun, or the sweet scent of springtime meadows no! she stated forcefully. Her time in the fotests would not end here, you shall not have me yet! she bellowed and snorted at the jackals of death.
In the heat of the moment, and the howling cackles of her own minds adversary, she heard someone or something call out to her. Whom ever it was had given her the exact push she needed to wade the rest of the way through the thick black sludge of her mind. Her eyelids felt like they weighed a couple of tons a piece, but she managed to flutter them open. Takeing a moment she let her tired eyes foucus, and gaze at the scenery before her. Which was short lived for the only thing she could see was a mossy rock in front of her. She tried to lift her head but the mud around her was like cement, so insted she decided to just give her body a minut more to recuperate and gazed up. Not so soon after she did her eyes locked with that of a huge wolf. Totally freaked out her body moved of its own accord on a new found bout of energy, getting up she faltered on her now swollen leg, which in turn had her slip sliding further into the mud. Ploping down on her rump she sat there exhausted, now completely covered in mud, stareing back into the eyes of the wolf.
After She had completely exerted herself the wolf's words filter back to her, eyeing him warily she nodded, looked down at herself and the globs of sticky sludge oozing off of her and stammered weakly yes it would look like i have need of your help swaying slightly as she raised her head and met his gaze with her big doe hazel eyes if you would please, I was trying to make it to the water I smelled, and kind of fell short of my mark

(Kynn) "Don't take life too seriously. You'll never escape it alive anyway."
It took a few moments, but sure enough, the young doe had her eyes trained on the wolf in front of her. As was to be expected, she lashed out and tried to retreat, seeing him only as a threat. He ducked quickly when a glob of mud flew in his direction, but straightening up with a chuckle. Kynn couldn’t help but smile as she squandered her already drained energy, only to fall back onto her rump in defeat. He turned his gaze on her injured leg, which was now inflamed and bleeding. The scent of blood roused the predator within him, but it didn’t take much effort to sooth his inner demons and wish away the desire to kill. The wolf took a deep breath when the doe seemed to calm down. It took another few moments before his words seemed to register in her brain. And then she began to respond positively, which earned her another closed lip smile from the predator. “That much is obvious, sweet pea.” He said in almost a mocking tone, amused of the fact she had gotten herself into such a bad position that would only lead to be taken advantage of. Kynn prided himself as he careful clambered off the rock, knowing he would never had let himself get to where she was. He was a smooth, well thought wolf who took his time and never rushed things.
Before aiming toward the mud, the wolf landed on the grassy bank, turning and looking back toward the water. “Wait here a moment.” He commanded with a deep, throaty chuckle. Hah, where was she to go? Kynn abandoned the small deer to return to the pond, the distance seeming father than he expected. He waded into the cool water, relishing in the feeling of it cooling down his fur. What he was looking for was moss— a sponge of some sort. And it wasn’t too long before he found a big of rock covered in a thick deal of the strange plant. He tore off a mouthful, scrunching his face up in the bitter taste. Gah, how did herbivores handle this disgusting plant diet? The wolf tried to ignore it as he dunked the moss in the water, inflating it with liquid, before he went trotting back toward the helpless doe. He reappeared on the rock and looked down at her muddy position again. Grinding his jaw and letting some of the water drip out and splatter on the surface of the boulder, he set it down and hopped off again toward the forest. How was he going to set it in the mud so she could drink? Why, he’d use that big old wolf brain of course! Kynn grabbed a disgusting mouthful of leaves, leaned over the mud, and dumped them in a pile in front of the deer. He then took the soaking moss in his mouth and leapt down with her.
Kynn grimaced at the feeling of mud between his toes as he trudged through it toward the tiny deer like creature. He circled around her, examining her left side before passing her rump and coming along to press himself against her right side. The feeling of mud digging through his fur to press against his warm skin was sickening, but he did his best to ignore it. It was only then did it actually process through his mind how much larger than her he was, and it gave him a sense of power and authority. He bent down and dropped the moss onto the pile of leaves, which thankfully kept the water from draining. “It’s only a sip, but it should help.” He mumbled, leaning over and sniffing at her injured leg before carefully nudging his muzzle under it to lift it from the mud. “Keep it off the ground.” He directed, flicking his ears and shaking his head to get the mud off his maw. He waited a few moments for her to lick up the water contained in the moss before saying, “Lean against me for support, alright? We’ll take this one step at a time.” And then, he slowly began to lead her from the muddy pit up a shallow bank and through the forest toward her intended destination.

Tetsurie's senses kept fading in and out, and she felt as though she was going to collapse again. But Tetsurie was a strong one, she had always been told that by her parents. So when she heard the sarcasm in his voice she tried to give a smirk, all-bet a little small, but she still managed to, which was a big triumph in and of its self. And when he said he'd be back she dug her hooves into the mud and braced herself, for at that moment she felt as though she was going to pass out. Not knowing how long he would be she sent out a silent thought to him'please hurry' as she saw his fluffy tail disappear into the foliage of the forest, her heart sank a little. And with that she was alone once again, trying to keep her mind off that fact Tetsurie did everything she could think of to keep herself awake. Shaking her head to get some of the mud off, Tesurie's ears hit the side of her face with a small plop. Giving a half hearted chuckle she wondered how bad she really looked all covered in mud, fur matted to her body making her look even more smaller the she already was.
While thinking how bad she looked and so yearning for food, water and a nice long bath. The wolf came back with a large piece of dripping wet moss, how innovative she thought as her stomach gurgled loudly. Setting the moss down onto the boulder a puzzled look came over the wolf's face, though it didn't last long as his features brightened and he hopped down and disappeared for a moment. popping back up a moment later with a mouth full of leaves, giving a small snort at how foolish he looked she continued to watch him as he sprinkled/spluttered the leaves onto the mud. Moments after that he was down there by her side, leaning into her he nuzzled his nose up under her leg and very authoritatively told her to keep it out of the mud. With not enough energy to resist she did so, wobbling a little she pushed further into his side not wanting to fall back into the mud. Dipping her head down she lapped the still cool water from the moss graciously mentally thanking him.
Promptly after finishing the wolf encouraged her to use him as a crutch, he helped her out of the mud pit. Staggering slightly on only three legs, she managed to hobble up the hill and through the forest. The going wasn't easy but at least she was up and moving, which was more then she had hoped for a few minutes ago. So concentrated on not tripping over rocks, ferns, and tree roots she kept her jaw set the entire way, though a few huffs and puffs escaped her the going was quiet. It felt like ages but they finally reached the end of the wood, a few more steps carried them into the clearing and what a sight to behold. Beautiful lush grass stretched like a plush carpet from the verdant green forest to the crystalline waters edge. It was almost as if she had stepped into a faerie tale, with a new found strength and fire in her heart. Tetsurie pulled away from the wolf and staggered to the water, she did not stop till she was shoulder deep. Only then did she dip her head down eagerly and drink, dragging mouth full upon mouth full of the delicious liquid she closed her eyes. Lost in euphoria, her ears drooped and her body relaxed, anything cold have snuck up on her, but at that moment she had no care in the world.
It felt as an eternity had passed before she snapped back to reality and lifted her head up, re-realizing she had company. She turned to the grinning wolf, sheepishly said 'My name is Tetsurie, i thank you so very much" With a little more confidence she added "I am forever in your dept, and i don't even know my saviors name"

(Kynn) "Don't take life too seriously. You'll never escape it alive anyway."
The small deer dug into his side, letting him take quite a deal of her weight. She was a scrawny thing, and barely weighed anything. It hardly fazed him as they walked slowly toward Estraya’s pond together. He wasn’t one to talk much in times like these, and since she hadn’t spoken, he didn’t bother to try and make conversation. He glanced down at her anytime she leaned heavily into him, and he assumed it was because she was focused on anything in her pathway that would cause her to fall. If she did manage to trip herself, Kynn was sure he’d be able to catch her one way or another. She wouldn’t like either way he had in mind, and would most likely start screaming if he clamped his teeth on her withers to keep her from tumbling to the ground. While he didn’t break stride, or ever break a sweat, he could hear the tiny deer huffing quietly next to him. The poor thing, even a trip like this was exhausting for her. Well, once she got some water, food, and rest, she should do fine if she kept off her leg for a few days and monitored it for any infections.
The pond had fully come into view, and with the sight, came strength. For it wasn’t long before the doe was pulling her muddy self away from Kynn and hobbling quickly to the water. It surprised the wolf a bit, and he lurched after her, trailing at her haunch to catch her if she fell. But once she was submerged past her chest, Kynn held back and stood in the water, watching her. She continued to move deeper until her shoulders flooded over with liquid and she practically went face deep, sucking as much water she could into her body. The wolf let one ear lower a bit in confusion. She must have been deprived for a long time if she was that desperate for the liquid. Giving a loud huff, he turned and moved deeper into the lake, giving a slight grimace at the sludge that squished around his paws. Geez, it must be nice to have hard hooves. He moved until it was deep enough that it skimmed his back and by then he was shaking his body with such vigor that the water around him turned brown within a few seconds. Once he was thoroughly doused, and after he double checked that there was no more mud that was tangled thickly through his fur, he trudged out of the pond, clean as a whistle.
Kynn turned his head at watched as the deer suddenly jerked her head from the water and turned to face him. The wolf braced himself and gave his fur another thorough shake to drain his fur of the cooling water. By the time he stopped shaking, his hair sticking up in all different directions, the doe was speaking to him. Thanking him for his off generosity. She seemed a bit standoffish at first, but she came around and spoke again, her voice stronger than before. Her name wasn’t what caught his attention, it was her offer. Forever in his debt? Hm… That was a first. What the hell could she ever do for him? “Don’t worry about it, Tetsurie.” He said gruffly, testing her name on his tongue. “You owe me nothing. I’m Kynn, by the way.” He said with a friendly smile. Turning around and straying a few yards away to patch of grass, he flopped over on the ground and stretched out in the sun, angling himself to watch the doe.
“Unless you want to lose your leg, keep it clean and try to stay off of it.” She could help herself out of the water, since it would help take her weight. When she was on land he’d help her to shelter, or somewhere where she could lay her leg and let it heal. Kynn’s brown eyes rolled over the small creature’s body. She was so fragile, innocent. What harm could she ever do? She would make a pathetic excuse as a protector, and so who would be the one to keep her safe? She seemed alone at this point. Had she no friends? No lover to return to? The wolf suddenly cleared his throat and rolled up onto his belly. “I’ll stay with you until your leg heals. You won’t have to worry about anyone eating you.” He finished that off with a chuckle. “Except me of course.” While he had no intentions of eating her, the threat always was present, since he was a wolf and she was a deer. But he often found it hard to kill the ones that he has spoken to. It’s almost like killing your new friend. Kynn yawned loudly and sprawled out again, closing his eyes and relishing in the feeling of the sun drying his fur.
