The doe awoke with a start. Brown eyes quickly zipped this way and that as she tried to get a sense of where she was at. She remembered walking into an unfamiliar part of her homeland's forest. A heavy feeling had washed over her and from then on everything was just black. Her body still felt sluggish, but she wouldn't let that hold her down.
The female quickly picked herself up off the ground to survey the area. Birds chirping. Buzzing of insects. Trickle of water. Rustling leaves. There were no signs of predators in the area from what her ears could pick up. She didn't even know if there were any of her kind either. How she would love for someone to show up! Little Lorrin was so dependent on others. She hated feeling this alone and vulnerable!
Unexpectedly, a bird shot past the already frightened doe. The flashy colors caught her eyes, and she peered in a confused manner at the bird that was now perched on a branch above her. The feathers had so many colors, but the bird looked like a blue jay. "How could a blue jay be the color of a rainbow?!" Lorrin thought.
With a heavy sigh, she walked a few feet to the edge of a wide pond. She would drink her fill and wait to see if another deer would show up to the pond. Later would be the time to wrap her head around all this.

The waters of the lake seemed still, gleaming in what light that struck it; a beautiful sight from above. But below, something strange stirred.
Powerful legs kicked and pushed, until finally his head broke loose violently on the surface, large gasps of air filling his lungs, and desperate calls and grunts for help were almost instantly issued. But as his limbs flailed to try and keep him afloat, large, frightened eyes noticed that there was no ice in this place. No...snow? He had expected at least that much, upon breaking the surface again.
He'd fallen - stepped on a nasty crack in the ice as he was traveling with his herd. A foolish mistake, with what the ice caving in under his bulk, and suddenly forcing him under. He surely thought he would drown, or get eaten by one of those damnable bears, or even those cursed sharks! But..No. This was not the case. Instead of being eaten by the strange darkness of the freezing waters, he fought, and fought, until he ended up...Here.
His cries for aid ceased, and he was quick to paddle to shore- coming upon the softer sands and mud, and soon dry grass and dirt with a coughing fit ensuing. Water spilled from his snout and maw, leaving a bitter taste to settle onto his tongue. But that was the last thing on his mind; knees buckled with a loud click, and his dampened body was allowed to finally fall onto dry land with a dull thump; his breathing heavy, and somewhat labored.
Eyes closed for a moment, teeth gritting together at the loud ringing that plagued his ears and mind, his racing heart just about ready to leap from his chest. He just needed a moment...And when that moment passed, his eyes opened slowly again, and lazily peered around. No..This definitely was not where he had expected to rise. He expected ice, snow, and his beloved herd around him, horns going to assist him. At the very least he would have expected him to break the surface in the middle of the sea, with shore far from his reaches. This...also was not the case. Similar, but different.
He was in a different place entirely - the scents here were...extremely different. Certainly not that of the permafrost, rotting flesh, bitter pines, and sea air he was most use to in his homeland. No...this place was entirely different, new. And when the ringing in his ears ceased, all sorts of sounds filtered into them. Chirps of birds, the obnoxious wings of insects, the gentle splashing of the water against the shore. No..this place was certainly not what he was expecting at all.
With a disgruntled noise, Iluq picked up his large head, and blinked his blurry eyes a few times, looking around more. What..Happened to him? Did his bonk his head on a chunk of ice after he fell? Was he...Was he dead? He'd heard the tales of the fallen ascending to a most wonderful place among the stars - that place being accessed only through the night lights that streaked across the sky. But..There were no lights when he fell; only darkness.
He shook his head, water fleeing from his thick fur, before he staggered to get onto his hooves; allowing the large things to dig into the soil to allow him to stand. A strange sensation. The permafrost was beginning to grow hard, and snow and ice were forming, when he had fallen. His hoofs had just grown use to such; now that he was on softer land again, he was only slightly uncomfortable.
The rest of his body shivered, before Iluq did his best to rid himself of that damned water, knees clicking softly as his tail flickered, and eyes gazed about again. No..This surely was nothing like his homeland. Nothing like it at all. A low, guttural sound rumbled in his throat, then. If this was a place of spirits...Then where were they..? Was he...Was he alone? Ears bobbed forward, and perked high on either side of his antlers, and he stood his fullest to get a better look around.
No...He was not alone - there were birds, he could hear them, even see a few zip by. Strange...They were..Not like the ones he was use to seeing. And there were other things, Iluq could smell them...Including the rather close scent of another, living being. His head snapped into the direction of the smell, and eyes caught sight of, why yes, another being. This one much smaller than himself, and lacking a proud rack of horns, but they were there no less. He was not alone...Were they there before himself? Perhaps they knew where he was.
Taking in a deep breath, Iluq swallowed back a lump in his throat, and dared to tread forward; his knees giving soft clicks as he made his way over to the other being - a female, perhaps? He let out a soft call, before clearing his throat, and stopping when he was just a short distance away from her. One could never be too cautious in a place like this. "H-Hello...?"

Lorrin had started to test out the plants around her. She'd been waiting so long that grumbles of hunger started to rise in her belly. She was careful to avoid colorful plants and berries, even though it was so tempting to eat them because of their sweet scents. She knew back in her homeworld, things that were colorful could be poisonous, or in the least cause a stomach upset.
The greens that she did eat, however, were absolutely wonderful! The leaves were so soft and succulent, as if they'd never experienced a dry summer or a cold winter. As she was browsing away, loud splashing quickly caught her attention. It was coming from the pond, so she quietly made her way there.
What she saw was out of this world. Another deer had emerged from a deeper part of the waters. She couldn't grasp her head around how. Had he swam, unnoticed, all the way to the middle? But if he could swim, why would he be thrashing about so much? This didn't make any sense!
When he exited the pond, she noticed his fur was unusually white, with just a small patch of brown from what she could tell. He didn't look like one of her species, but she knew there were other types of deer so this did not surprise her. She wanted to approach him but was still quite shocked with what had just happened. In fact, this whole experience was still so unnerving!
The male started to approach her, but stopped a little ways away. He seemed shaken from his experience, and looked cautious of approaching the small doe. Lorrin looked at him quizzically, eyeing him up before saying, "Well, I'm not going to bite you! I'm not a predator. Where did you come from? I didn't see you go into the pond?"

Iluq flinched in slight surprise, at how sudden this female's voice came to him - and her words were hardly enlighten him, however. She seemed just as confused as he did, and the thought made a bitter look cross his features for a moment, before he relaxed once more. He was merely frustrated, was all. No need to get his fur in a twist.
Taking a breath, the hulky bull allowed a gentle smile to spread over his lips, and a gentle tip of his large head was shown, before he spoke. "Pardon my...sudden appearance.." He would say out, an apologetic tone in his rumbling voice, as he spoke. Eyes turned away from this doe, and instead glanced back around at this place that they were located in.
"You ask me of where I came...And I cannot even begin to explain where, or how, I even came to be here...One minute I'm walking on ice...The next, falling into the bitter cold ocean waters...And when I broke the surface...I was here." Iluq explained this with eyes narrowing in slight frustration and confusion, but allowed himself to relax when he looked back to the other being.
She was not of his kind - at least, not of his direct kind. A distinctly smaller cousin of his species, yes? Iluq had run into a few during his lifetime - traveling as often as they did, it was hard for his herd to avoid such occurrences. He did not mind, however; these deer were kind, and docile. The males posed little threat to him, and the females even less, with their lack of horns. He could trust she would not randomly attack him. Even if she did, she wouldn't be able to hurt him too horribly - or at all.
The male seemed to catch himself, however, and drew out of his thoughts with another tip of his head. His tail gave a gentle flick behind him. "I am Iluq." He would state simply, gentle smile returning before he looked around once more. "Are you...The only other one here..? You mentioned predators...Have you seen them around?" Would this doe not be dead, if she had? Why, of course she would! This place had such a...different..almost frightening atmosphere to it. Magical, would have been the right term.
Who knew what lurked around in these parts, hm? This was no ordinary place, so why would any ordinary predators be located here? No...It was far too different. Different to the point where Iluq wondered if he would end up changing with this place, over time.

The voice that came from the male suited him. It was very deep and powerful sounding; quite handsome Lorrin could admit. Of course she wouldn't tell him that though!
She followed his eyes to the forest scenery, herself looking at the pond from where he emerged. Everything looked so beautiful... magical even. If she didn't know any better, she would've thought this place was the thing of fantasies, and was indeed full of magic. There was no way that could be the case though.
Lorrin listened intently as he spoke, and with each word he uttered she grew more and more anxious. That sounded like what had happened to her! Well, kind of. She thought. This was all so strange; she didn't know if she'd ever grow used to this place and this experience.
With a flabbergasted sigh, the doe took a few steps towards the pond and stopped, looking out over the waters. "Something similar happened to me. I went into a deeper, unfamiliar part of my homeland's forest to get away from those human hunters. For some reason I just started feeling tired, like my body was just being drained by absolutely nothing!" Her voice trembled, but she regained her composure and finished up her story. "I blacked out and woke up here. I just don't understand."
She shook her head slightly, as if trying to fling the memories out of her head. The male presented her his name, and also asked about predators. She never saw any, actually, and wondered if there even were any here. "Hello Iluq, my name is Lorrin. I've been here a few hours and you're the only one I've seen. Thankfully I haven't seen or even smelled any predators." She said, her own words comforting her.
She should be fine now though. There were other deer! Well, there was at least one. Now that Lorrin thought about it, she didn't know what she was going to do when Iluq would decide to leave. He wasn't her species, but he was close enough! She dreaded the thought of spending any more time alone in this strange place.

Iluq's ears twisted forward with sudden interest, when the for had shifted towards the pond, and began to speak. His eyes seemed to soften; this woman knew less about this place than he had hoped..They were in a most particular situation.
Suddenly waking in a place where they certainly did not belong, and with such strange things around them. Iluq couldn't even fathom the idea of escaping this land, and returning home; how could he when he didn't even know where the hell he was?
The thought frustrated him to no end, and the bull let out a snort of displeasure, before falling quiet. No use getting frustrated over anything, he supposed. That would also get him nowhere at all.
And this doe's story...though similar to his own, she did not face a death-like experience. Iluq was drowning, before he broke the surface. In absolute panic, even. For all he knew, this was the place spirits came when the lights streaked across the night sky. But she...she merely walked into a strange part of the forest. Less she was taken by a sudden bullet from one of those hunters, and killed so fast she didn't even know it..He sighed.
Who knew how they truly got there, or even why. The large male wouldn't dare to voice his theory; this poor thing seemed shaken enough by her own confusion. He didn't need to frighten her by telling her that maybe she was dead.
A name was given to him, then, once her story was over, and Iluq allowed a small, plesant smile to spread over his maw again, and he gave a tip of his large head once more. "It is good to be meeting you, Lorrin, than an untimely death by an awaiting predator.." He would admit with a dry chuckle.
Mention of not seeing - or even smelling - another predator, however, was quite a relieveing bit of news, and Iluq nodded his head softly at it. Good, good..Very good. Then perhaps they wouldn't have to worry much about getting eaten, if they dared ventured away from this pond. Something Iluq would want to do, eventually. His intense curiosity would not allow him to stay by this place.
His head cocked to the side, as he looked over Lorrin a bit, a silent question coming over his gaze as he did. Would she travel with him? It was not unnatural to find her kind straying away from their herds to go, and start new ones. It was frequent enough in his own; usually males skipping off with their tails between their legs after he put them down in battle. But she wasn't like them; she lacked horns, and the bulk to fight against something, should she be attacked.
"...Have you not left this spot, in the time you've been here?"

ooc: her appearance is still the same as a normal deer of course, just using my new table haha
The male seemed very displeased with her answer, given the grunt he put forth. She didn't think he was frustrated with her though - just the idea of having no clue what was going on. Lorrin was more frightened than anything. She cared not that she was in a world she didn't know nothing about. If it was safe, then she'd absolutely adore it here. She didn't know if it was however, and that's what she was afraid of.
She did miss her mother, aunt, and her other herdmates, but she wasn't that close to any of them really. She only stayed with them for protection in numbers, but that day they caught whiff of a hunter close by, everyone panicked. Lorrin instinctively headed for deeper, thicker parts of the woods. The rest is history.
Iluq probably would've died if he hadn't ended up here, she pondered. It was as if they were teleported by some unknown force here. She couldn't begin to comprehend such magic. She looked to the stag, a smile lighting her face, as he spoke. "Haha! I am glad to be meeting you too Iluq."
She noticed he was looking at her quizzically, and she couldn't help but grin softly and shy her head away as he did. She was always a bit self-conscience of herself, so a male looking at her would definitely make her just a little uncomfortable. Luckily he started to ask a question, so her attention focused on that instead. "No, I haven't. I've been too scared to venture off on my own, so I thought I'd wait here until someone showed up."

oooh interesting! :'D i very much like it! haha i'm decent at pixels and HTML, but i don't think i could ever master making an awesome table x3;;

A small smirk spread over Iluq's lips, at how Lorrin had turned her head away from him so, and a soft chuckle rumbled in his throat. Cute. He blinked softly, however, and perked up a bit as she spoke up, answering his question. His head gave a nod.
It made sense, to not want to venture off on her own..Without a proper set of defensive moves, she was a sitting duck. "I see.." He would murmur softly, before shifting on his hooves, and letting his tail flick softly behind him. All sorts of scents flowed into his nose, as he took in a deep breath of air, and let it out again in a slow sigh.
"I do not blame you...Such a strange place is bound to hold secrets...And many of them, I can say.." He would comment, gazing off to the denser foliage just beyond them. Colourful plants, mushrooms, small animals and insects...Just what was out there, exactly?
Eyes flicked back to Lorrin an he gave her a curious gaze. "Well...Someone's showed up. Do you plan on staying here, still? I don't know about you but...I am most curious of this place...And without any sign of predators, I think a bit of exploring is in order.." Iluq grinned at that.
"Would you join me, or remain?" Sure, leaving the doe here by herself didn't exactly sound like the best idea ever..She had no way of defending herself, other than running away, and perhaps using her hooves to sharply jam an attacker in the chest...But nothing more.
Maybe he should stay until another showed up? Maybe another male, even? Iluq didn't have too much mind for other males, especially so if they were like Lorrin - distant cousins to his kind.
Wasn't like he had territory marked, or any females claimed, so there would be no real cause of conflict, yes?

Lorrin's ears perked up as she listened to the white male speak. His deep, comforting voice traveled through them, and she felt like she could trust him with anything. She felt safe with the large male. He was much bigger than the whitetails back in her homeland. When it came to fending off predators, bigger was always better.
She didn't just want to use him for protection though. Lorrin genuinely liked Iluq's personality. He didn't seem rash or arrogant like typical males. The thought made her smile, and even more so when he asked if she wanted to join him. "Oh! I would love to come with you! I won't be a bother, I promise," she affirmed, excitement very much apparent in her voice.
"I can't wait to see what else is out there! I actually saw this strange bird. It looked like a blue jay, if you've ever seen one, but it had so many colors!" Lorrin was a curious being herself, though she had always been too afraid to have any adventures of sorts. By far, this was her biggest adventure yet.

"Oh?" A bother? Of all the things this female could worry over, she chose to worry about being a neusiance to Iluq? The statement caused the reindeer to chuckle, the sound deep and rumbling in his throat.
"Be assured, you will be no bother, Lorrin. I'll be glad to have your company." It would do him good, in that sense, to be traveling with another, instead of trekking out alone. Lorrin could provide an extra set of eyes and ears for him, as well as someone to keep him company. Someone to talk to, and explore with.
After all, what was an adventure when you were by yourself, eh? "Who knows...Perhaps we'll find others while we're out there? We can't be the only ones.." He murmured softly, as the doe spoke of the multicoloured jay. It caused him to blink and arch a brow in wonder.
What all was out there? Rainbow jays, strange plants and insects...Who knew what else was out there? Iluq was both fascinated and curious about this fact. To be in such an unknown place...He strived for the unknown, thirsted for it's secret knowledge. Perhaps coming to this place wasn't such a bad thing, in the end.
He could learn so much, expand his knowledge, delve into that unknown and see what secrets it held. It excited him, really, and eyes turned from Lorrin to look back at the forest beyond them, a small smile on his face, before he gestured towrds it with a soft nod of his head.
"Let's get going, then, hm? Better to head off now and find somewhere safe before it gets dark out.." He would suggest, before making his way towards the foliage; knees clicking loudly as he walked.
A good evolutionary asset a few of his kin used to keep the herd together during blizzards. It gave away their position; perhaps Lorrin could use this to stay close? Or allow an enemy to find them sooner. But Iluq held no fear; only curiosity.

OOC: okay so we can probably end it here or after you respond. Then we can thread again with them journeying through another part of the forest? Maybe that's where they both find their potions/items? (: Or it can be after they've found their items. Doesn't matter! ^^
---
The young doe grinned when Iluq chuckled from her comment. Well, it was true! She wasn't only afraid of predators and the unknown, but also of bothering others. She didn't care too much when it was her family, but Iluq was a stranger she just met. She didn't want to leave a bad impression.
She perked up when she heard him speak of finding others. Lorrin wasn't sure how she felt about that. On the one hand it would be great to know they weren't alone in this strange world, but she didn't want to leave the one she was already getting so comfortable with. If she did though, she hoped any deer she joined up with weren't arrogant or cocky.
Iluq suggested for them to get started as he walked away. She noticed his legs making a clicking sound as he walked. Strange. She wondered why they did that, and couldn't help but voice her curiosities. "...That clicking?" she asked simply, her eyes moving to his as she awaited a response.
She would make sure to stay close to him. She'd hate to get lost in the woods alone. Just because she couldn't smell predators didn't mean they may not be out there. The white male looked like he could hold his own, but there was no way Lorrin could survive being attacked. Not even for a second. All she had was speed and agility on her side. Flight was her only option.

ooc;;
sounds fine by me :3 we can start a new thread after this post~ and they can find their potions/items then sure ^^ it would be interesting to see how that played out.

Iluq chuckled lightly, when the mention of his clicking knees came up, and he nodded softly. "Indeed. Helps keep the herds together during heavy snowstorms; especially the young ones." He explained softly. "Only a few of my kin have this little...ability of sorts, though. Most do not." He added with a light shrug.
"Think of it as a way of..tracking me? That way if we get separated, you'll know how to find me again." He looked back at Lorrin with a gentle smile, before continuing forward, pushing through the foliage of the forest as he went - being sure to take in all of the scents as he went.
Ah...crisp, and fresh, and so clean...Those humans had tainted many things, back in his home. It was bad enough that bears and wolves and sometimes large cats and whales hunted them...Humans only added another nuisance to that list. But here...here seemed peaceful, an different.
Eyes locked forward, hooves stepping carefully around the foliage and grasses as he went.
