Fae's eyes fluttered open, the warm sun wrapping around her body like a blanket. She reluctantly lifted her head and blinked sweet slumber away from her deep brown eyes. Her two front legs were neatly tucked under her chest, as her two fore legs were sprawled to the left, she sighed. Fae Jay was having a good rest, and didn't feel much of a need to get up from her current position. She glanced to the side, then the other side, seeing no deer. Wait... no deer. No deer? Fae rose to stand on all four legs, did her herd leave her? When she caught up to them, she swore, they were in real trouble! Fae was unsure if she should call out, in fear a predator would be near. Fae took a long gaze around the meadow... and it dawned on her that this was not the same meadow she had fallen asleep in when her herd stopped to graze here. They wouldn't have stopped if her leg had not been broken and bleeding... did they leave her to die here? But if so, how could they have moved her without her waking up?
It all was too strange. "This is not right" she muttered to herself, her herd wouldn't just leave... right?
Fae let out a whimper, she was frightened, she was stranded out her by herself, sure, her leg felt a lot better, it wasn't bleeding and no longer broken by some strange miracle- but she still felt alone, too scared to move from her spot.
"Is anyone out there?" Fae called, going against her fears in hopes someone was near by.

This place was so strange, so quiet. He'd been here for weeks now, maybe months. It was quiet strange, if he were to be honest, but he did not mind it. In fact, he liked it here - it was better than the other world, the world he'd come from, and there was magic here. Magic! Who would have ever believed that such a thing existed? Pine had never been much of a believer in magic, it had always just been a myth, a child's tale, but now he lived in a forest full of it. Spirits, the walking dead, immortals, stories of grandeur... The large buck chuckled and shook his head, antlers heavy, dark eyes carefully scanning the quiet meadow he'd stumbled upon a few days ago. It reminded him of the place he'd been with his friends before the cougar appeared and chased them off. He'd ended up here, after that, for no reason he could think of. He'd pondered, wondering if he was dead, but he could not remember ever being attacked...
Shrugging off the curious question, the lone deer huffed hesitantly at the long blades of grass beneath his cloven hooves, his slender pillars moving him cautiously forward. Even here, it was not safe to voyage alone. There were predators lurking in the shadows. He'd heard tales of a massive black wolf the size of a horse that lived here! He shuddered at the thought, teeth tugging at a few blades of grass before a sudden call made him jump. "Is anyone out there?" He snorted, body tense, pillars once more in motion as he drew closer to the damsel's vocals.
"There are others here, yes," he greeted her gently, tipping his head as a sign of respect. "My name is Pine. I take it you've just... arrived here?"

Fae whisked her head around, causing temporary light headiness. Her large eyes looking the buck up and down, he was rather large, obviously not of the same breed. She was quiet for a moment.. pondering if it was really a good idea talking to strange buck in a strange place, but something told her she could trust this buck and he posed no threat, and his greeting was kind, not demanding or overpowering.
"H-hello," she stuttered, "My name is Fae Jay, but you can call me Fae or Jay,which ever tickles your fancy.. and yes, I just 'arrived' here, where ever 'here' is."
She looked away from the buck, taking a long glance at the meadow she was in. The grass was almost to her knees and it looked delectable, but she refrained from grazing- it was rude to start to eat when she was making introductions with the new buck. "Have you seen anyone else so far?" Fae questioned, sense just waking up here, she wondered if they were the only two in this forest. But she scoffed at the thought in her head, is was preposterous to think she and Pine were the only two in here or at least she hoped that wasn't true.

A worried look crossed his mug when the doe turned her had toward him so quickly and he snorted softly, invisible brow furrowing as he observed her. It seemed that, despite his careful approach, he had startled her. He wasn't too surprised, to be honest. Most does, especially in places they were unfamiliar with, were usually more skittish than bucks. At least she had not fled from him. He doubted he would look very welcoming if he started chasing after her... Hopefully their meeting wouldn't come down to that. Pine would hate to make himself look like a jerk. He took another careful step toward her but was careful not to invade her personal space, his large five hundred pound bodice rippling with muscles beneath his soft, brown pelt.
Standing eight feet tall at the shoulders, Pine was much larger than the female, his six pound antlers a startling twenty-eight inches long. It was no surprise she seemed so wide-eyed! "H-hello. My name is Fae Jay, but you can call me Fae or Jay,which ever tickles your fancy.. and yes, I just 'arrived' here, where ever 'here' is." He smiled at her kindly, turning to gaze around the perimeter of the meadow. "Ah, yes, I figured you were new here. You looked pretty confused!" he teased lightly with a soft chuckle. "I'm Pine and this, well... I'm not really sure where it is, but I know that some of the creatures have just taken to calling it The Forest."
He shrugged, pausing to allow the female to speak once more. "Have you seen anyone else so far?" He took a moment to think about it, remembering the few creatures he'd stumbled upon since his own arrival in this strange, alluring place. "There are others here. I don't for sure know how many, but I know that there are others. I've met a few."

Fae gave a small smile at his tease. Not feeling threatened in the slightest despite his tall frame. "Well, it's nice to meet you, Pine." She took a subtle step toward the buck, compared to him she reached his knees, and if she balanced on her hind she would barely meet the beginning of his shoulder.
"Were they friendly ?" She then questioned, Pine was nice but that didn't mean they all were. Fae wasn't a mistrusting doe or a worry wart- but she was in a new place, not 5 minutes ago was she with her herd and now she was.. Somewhere.. Where she was it looked safe enough- but how long until a predator or human showed up? She was now convinced that her herd wasn't here or coming back for her.
'The Forest' was a pretty self explanatory name, it was simple, she liked it- at least it wasn't some long, complicated name that no one could pronounce, not even the first thing to name the area.
