Name: Aella (Greek meaning "storm, wind; whirlwind: pronounced EYE-ELL-LUH)
Gender: Female
Species: Piebald Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus)
Age: Four years
Appearance:
Being a piebald, Aella's pelt is naturally spotted and specked; her coat mainly consists of a brown-grey colouration, being darker on the top, and gradually getting lighter to her belly, eventually to the point where it bleaches to a bright white. Speckles dot all around her belly, and even spot her lower jaw and forehead. There is also a large white heart-shaped patch on her rump that covers most of her hind quarters. Aella is very gracious looking, with her large, dark eyes often fooling others into thinking that she's nothing more than an innocent doe. And a small one, at that; her shoulder height is only about 75 centimeters (2.5 feet) and a body length of a mere 135 centimeters (about 4.5 feet) - her tail being rather short - and weighing only 35 kilograms (77 pounds).
Personality:
Despite her appearance, however, Aella lives up to her name; she's just as reckless and destructive as any whirlwind, and does not hesitate to charge straight into danger. Despite being such a small doe, and one without the strong antlers males usually had, she uses her wit and brutality to fend off most predators, or at least stun them, before fleeing into the thicker brush where she can fit, and predators cannot. She doesn't tend to get along with males very well, much rather finding herself wanting the company of another female, or group of females. Much like the Amazons, she views the males to be nothing more than tools for reproduction, and nothing more; thus garnering very little, if any, respect that any who cross her path, which often gets her into hot water, more times than non. And it would take a while before she would be willing to accept any male - friend or foe alike. Despite her brutality and hardheadedness, Aella is not unreasonable. Long as anyone does not try to overcome her, male, female, friend or foe, she is rather complacent.
History:
Being raised by a large herd of all-female deer, Aella was taught to fend for herself, and others, in the absence of a male figure. Even the male fawns that were birthed were soon chased off from the herd once they were old enough. Thus so, she believed that, because of the scarcity of males, except during the mating seasons, the females were thereby superior than the males, and vowed to never succumb to any one, until he managed to prove himself to her in some way. So, she fought and trained on this mindset, and she, and many of the other fawns born alongside of her, grew into mighty warriors - Aella being the shortest among her generation, due to her being the only piebald among them. But she did not allow this to be a disadvantage; more looking upon it as an advantage over predators. She was small, and quick on her short legs, and was able to fit into places where no other predator could have captured her. Even the stray humans had a hard time hunting her down. Because of this, she was given the task of training the younger fawn - even a few males - on how to defend themselves, and attack when needed. And would continue to do so, until the earth reclaimed her figure for itself.
Other:
Given her namesake and her cultural background and influence, it is safe to say that Aella is from one of the northernmost reaches of Greece, and accompanying that would be her heavy accent, making it slightly hard for others not of her origin to understand her. Her voice is rather monotone, but with a light feminine touch, and is slightly scratchy. She also has the ability to let out deep, throaty barks, to confuse predators and alert fellow kin of new found danger.
*note: i only list her as a roe deer because the body type in the image seems fairly similar to that of a roe deer; the image was found on flickr while looking for "piebald deer". no specific species of deer was given.
