White limbs carried the canine through the meadow with a gradual, non-rushed gait, and blue eyes glazed the lands with a whimsical look within them. He did indeed like this new stretch of land, as he had yet to visit a more, oh, what's the word, gentler area? One that didn't have rocks all in it? Or snow? Or... Well, it did actually have both of those at least some time in its life, but, oh, well, whatever. The point was he hadn't ever seen a meadow, neither had he seen one with such beauty.
"To dungeons deep and caverns old..."
The song he softly was singing to himself wasn't exactly like the more modern versions of it, but it mattered not. Boromir had first heard it sang by his mother, and he took after her example by singing it like her. Perhaps it wasn't as ominous as it could have been, but the wolf still enjoyed it just as much.
"We must away, ere break of day..."
A lazy smile graced his lips as a soft breeze ruffled his fur, and his icy orbs lifted to the sky of the same shade. It was turning out to be a beautiful, pleasant day. Maybe it was a bit warmer than he liked, because his thick coat was trapping in more heat and the brightly shining sun didn't make him any cooler, but he rather liked warm rather than the blistering cold he had grown up to. Once Boromir found a nice spot in the grass, he lay on his belly and inhaled the lovely scents of the meadow. Ah, he could certainly get used to this. As his eyes eyes closed, he finished his little tune.
"... To seek our pale enchanted gold."

ooc; zomg I LOVE that song, gives me chills every time.. The behemoth bear was out digging for her favorite treat again. She'd been fairly partial to the meadow ever since stumbling across it and meeting the strange black doe, and hadn't bothered to explore much farther than the White Oak during that one gathering. Her great nostrils heaved in breath after breath, snuffing around the ground in hopes of detecting the minute scent that would lead her to the perfect snack.
A light perfume wafted across her nostrils and she immediately froze, giant paws migrating to the source of the scent. She unearthed the terrain with impeccable strength and brought forth a small grove of four purple onions. A smile grew on her face as she brushed them lightly against the soft grass to remove any excess dirt and then proceeded to gobble them down one by one. In all this excitement she failed to note the predator looming nearby, and the eerie song he sang.
However, when her feast was over his scent filtered toward her, and Persephone's smile grew slightly wider. With a grunt she was back on her paws, heading in his direction with a lilting tone on her lips.
"Hello there!"

Boromir had gotten just a few mere minutes of a nap in before a scent wafted up into his nostrils. Blue eyes cracked open as the wolf made a slight connection to the smell; he had sniffed it once before, he was sure of that, but when? And who did it belong to? It had slipped his mind altogether, but the distinctive scent remained. Curiously, he blinked his eyes so they opened fully as his head turned this way and that. Finally, he saw something he remembered.
A bear. A big one, at that. Yes, there was something familiar about the bear... Boromir thought about it for a few more seconds as the large beast drew near, offering him a pleasant hello. The lupine returned her smile as her voice jolted the memory of her back to life, and it all was coming back to him. The gathering at the White Oak—that was where he had seen her. Perhaps she didn't remember him, but he couldn't ever forget such a sight, could he? He had seen bears before, but this woman was just a bit more memorable to him.
"Ah, a familiar face," he said airily, rising back to his feet. "I remember you from the White Oak gathering, though I don't believe we directly met each other." He let his tail slowly way behind him in a friendly manner, and his ears perked forward. "It's a lovely day, isn't it?" Boromir asked politely, his head tilting at her. In the back of his mind he wondered if his song had attracted her here, but he didn't vocalize his question just yet.

Auburn eyes fell upon the ivory form of a wolf she vaguely knew. It was the one who'd been at the White Oak that day when the wolf god had called out for them. He'd arrived just seconds after herself. Percy's smile remained on her face as she rocked onto her haunches a yard or two away and waited for his response. She was used to others being frightened of her, but Percy only hoped that he would remember her from the gathering and not haul out of here before giving her a fair chance.
He spoke up, not bothering to run, and Percy heaved a light sigh of relief. His response was reassuring that he did remember her from the gathering. He stood to his paws and she only watched him curiously, wondering if he'd still take his leave. However, as he questioned further, Persephone was fairly sure that he wasn't going to leave just yet. The bear's jaws hung agape as he asked his final inquiry. "Yes it is, simply marvelous! I've been foraging since early this morning, it was quite a beautiful sunrise.."
She leaned forward slightly into a more comfortable sitting position. Her front legs were bracing her and her back legs were kicked forward. "I'm Persephone, by the way, but please.. call me Percy." It was true, though she adored her full name, most often it was butchered by those who didn't know how to pronounce it, so she went by Percy now. "What's your name?"

She was a strange creature indeed, a different sort of beast to see in this place. Boromir had seen bears before in the Forest, but it was more of an occasional thing. Besides, he hadn't ever had a real conversation with one; well, really, he hadn't ever approached one. Perhaps he wouldn't have ever met this lady if she hadn't either heard him singing or picked up on his musk.
She seemed to remember him, as her soft exhale of breath was noticed by him. His smile grew a bit as his nose tipped towards the ground, and his ears flickered at her response. "I didn't have the chance to catch the sunrise this morning, but I'll take your word on it," he replied, sitting back on his haunches after the bear had done so. "Perhaps I can see it tomorrow? You wouldn't mind showing me the best place to view one, now would you?" With this he gave a lighthearted chuckle.
She stated her name, and Boromir quirked a brow at it. "Persephone," he repeated, his head tilting at her. "That's an interesting name, Percy. As for mine, well... I am Boromir." At times his own name felt foreign on his tongue—he didn't usually give out his name, but rather had more anonymous conversations with others nowadays. Regardless, he nodded at her after he spoke. "It's a pleasure to meet you, truly. It's not often I see many bears, believe it or not."

She was overjoyed to meet another predator. Not because she was prejudiced - quite the opposite, in fact - but because she knew that there was far less of a chance of him becoming frightened of her and running off into the depths of the forest. Predators rarely ever feared other predators, although he might have a reason to, since she dwarfed him by at least two or three times. Still, he didn't seem to fear her, and this alone made her day absolutely wonderful.
As he spoke up, she smiled and nodded. The sunrise would repeat all over again tomorrow, so she was certain he could catch it then. Another nod followed suit as he asked her for the best place to view one. Though she hadn't been all over the forest just yet, Percy knew a few good places, one of which was very close by, if he intended in staying in the meadow. Certainly, I know a few places.. one very close by. It was one of her favorite places of all in the forest. As he repeated her name, she smiled a toothy grin. It's a pleasure to officially meet you, Boromir. She would file that name away for later, as she was sure - and she very well hoped - that she would meet him again one day.
Oh I believe it. I haven't seen any others since i've been here.. though I haven't been here that long. Have you lived in the forest all your life? She assumed it was possible, though she half wondered if everyone was transported here just recently, or if it was staggered and some had come a long while ago, and some more recently - like herself. Perhaps he would know.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=width,450,true] | [atrb=background,http://i47.tinypic.com/jza0i9.jpg] On most every occasion the lupine encountered another, he was able to detect what conflicts or events controlled their actions. For example, one nervous about something usually paced around, or shifted their weight, or stuttered. Likewise, one holding in anger or frustration had gruff pitches in their voice, or would tense up at touchy subjects. His observations weren't the only thing he went upon when he asked about their problems, though; no, he would base his inferencing on many different factors. Everyone seemed to have a certain aura to them, a certain atmosphere that he could feel emitting from him...
From Persephone, he felt—and saw a few subtle signs, if we want to be technical—relief and content. What she was satisfied about, he did not know, nor did he press the matter. He saw her twin nods to his words and felt his own beam grow at hers. Ah, so a nice place was close by? That was pleasant. He had plans to hang around this meadow for a bit, so he could certainly make time to view the rising sun. "Hmm. Perhaps you could show me the site later, yes?" he queried, his tail wagging against the grass.
Boromir merely nodded warmly when Percy told him it was a pleasure meeting him officially, and he blinked at her next words. So she hasn't seen another bear either? The wolf would've thought that perhaps she had found one of her kind and would stick with them—that's what he would've done, and really, he had the chance to many times. However, in his case, most of the other wolves he encountered weren't exactly nice and friendly, so he left them alone. With Percy, maybe the same applied to her; he wasn't an expert on bears, but he could see how she wouldn't want to be with unpleasant bears. But, then again, she had said she hadn't been here long, and on the flip side, he had been here most of his life. Boromir gave another nod as he looked up into the sky for a brief moment. His brow furrowed as he tried to recall how long he had resided here, and his eyes darted back to the larger predator.
"No, but for a large portion of it. I've been here for quite some time now... Three years, I believe? Yes, I think that's right. I've seen most of the Forest, but this meadow... This meadow, I must've missed it somehow? Or perhaps the gods just made it? Regardless, I've been here for a good while now."
